Friday July 20, 2018 Day 5
Encampment
|
This morning, Day 5 Charlie Flight was awarded Honor Flight. After breakfast, the cadets went to Norwich’s rock wall and tested their skill at climbing. Next, the Encampment students preceded to the Obstacle Course where they practiced teamwork, resilience, and motivation. Finally, each cadet got the chance to descend from the Jennings Rappel Tower. |
Today, the NCOLS cadets presented their hip pocket presentations on leadership topics based off the book they have been reading all week, “An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth”. Each cadet had 5-7 minutes to present a class based on their chosen topic and were graded on their use of word fillers, eye contact, body language, organization of speech, and tone of voice. After that, the NCOs ran on the Norwich Army and Marine Obstacle Courses, repelled off of a 60 foot tower, and scaled up rock climbing walls. |

Orientation Flights
|
On the last day of O-Flights for the 2018 NH Summer Academy, 5 cadets had the opportunity to fly in gliders. These cadets worked to turn glider flights around and get new cadets into gliders in less than four minutes, which was an astounding achievement that demonstrated teamwork and a great ability to learn new skills. Thank you to all the powered and glider flight pilots for volunteering their time to fly the encampment students!
