Wednesday July 18, 2018 Day 3
Encampment
|
On Day 3 of Encampment, the morning began with the announcement of Honor Flight, Alpha Flight, as a result of their impressive performance on yesterdays inspection. Later, the cadets took a trip to the pool for a second time to learn about Water Survival Tactics. The Encampment Commander, Cadet Captain Santoro, taught the students how to construct a floating device from a pair of pants. Also, the cadets had the opportunity to try on some “simulation glasses” during the Drug-Demand Reduction Presentation. Finally, the second barracks and uniform inspection occurred to expand and improve on the cadet's knowledge they learned from yesterday. |
The NCOLS Students started their day with some early morning calisthenics. The cadets had the opportunity to engage in a presentation about Norwich University presented by admissions staff. In addition, the students participated in some Team Leadership Projects (TLPs) like Preparing to Learn and Learning to Lead, constructing towers with cardboard Jenga blocks, and rebuilding a dismantled picture. Finally, NCOLS attended a collaborative class with Encampment about Civil Air Patrol Scholarships and Military Colleges. |

With a beautiful, cloudless sky in Northfield, VT, the pilots took 27 cadets, (20 powered, 7 glider), flying to experience Norwich University from an ariel view. For some cadets, this was their first time flying. There are more flights to come in the next upcoming days! |
