Saturday, July 18th, 2015 -- Day 6
Summer Academy -- Day 6
C/CMSgt Lemay
Today, the cadets of Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership School, Encampment, and Cadet Honor Guard Academy started their day with morning classes and extensive uniform, barracks, and drill inspections. Next all of the cadets and staff gathered to their respective units to have their Academy photos taken. All cadets then reported for Pass in Review (or parade) practice for graduation tomorrow. The remainder of the evening was spent with a sendoff to the future graduates with a barbecue cookout, where cadets and staff relished in tales from the past week and enjoyed each other’s company. The cookout started out with a video screening calling to mind the memories of all who attended, and was followed by a brilliant performance by the cadet Honor Guard Academy. Finally it was time to clean up and prepare for tomorrow’s graduation and celebration.
A sincere thank you to all who have provided service and volunteered time to the Academies this summer, and a special thanks to Captain Orgettas, Lieutenant Brackett, and Lt. Col. Lauder for providing such delicious meals for all of us during the barbecue .
