Thursday July 19, 2018 Day 4
Encampment
|
The encampment cadets woke up at 5:45am to begin their routine drill and ceremonies practice and morning formation. Echo Flight was crowned Honor Flight for Day 3. Today also marked the students' first Squadron Level Barracks and Uniform Inspections. Squadron level inspections, unlike flight level inspections, are larger and include inspecting staff members. As the day continued, the cadets and staff worked together to solve problems during Team Leadership Projects (TLPs). Ending the day, cadets attended a class about National Cadet Special Activities (NCSAs).

NCOLS
Today the NCOLS cadets woke up and took an early morning hike up Mt. Payne. During the hike the cadets stopped and did various PT exercises while looking at the amazing views that can be found on Mt. Payne. Later they were given an enthusiastic class about the command voice by Flight Mentor Stringer in which they learned how to properly use the command voice during drill and other areas. Finishing up their busy day, the cadets learned about the NCSA’s and the great opportunities the cadets have in Civil Air Patrol. |

Orientation Flights
From pushing the gliders to the runway, to doing pre-checks on the aircraft, our pilots brought cadets on 16 powered and 10 glider flights to visit a variety of different places. Among these places was Mount Washington in New Hampshire and Newport, VT. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate to resume flying tomorrow. |
